Idaho Updates!

Hello from Lolo pass, precisely at the border of Idaho and Montana.
So much has happened since my last (short and pretty awful) update!
Tommy and I biked the rest of the way through eastern Oregon, entering Idaho by crossing over the Snake, and spent a beautiful night on its banks. We continued to Cambridge, where André awaited with about 20 pounds of food and a cheery attitude. We rode the Weiser river bike path - which ended up turning into something resembling a mountain bike trail - and spent the night under a bridge that the path crosses under, fortuitously avoiding a thunderstorm.
In Riggins, my friend Jill met up with us for a night of camping, s'mores, and Salmon river swimming!
From there, we biked up white bird hill, an amazing 10 mile uphill with views that just kept getting better. Past that, we entered the idaho heartland, spent the night in the Kooskia park (and happened to attend a Christian concert/ fire and brimstone rally), biked up the Clearwater and Lochsa rivers, and   met some really cool people, including Tom, who is participating in the transamerica bike race (and is quite happily last, enjoying every minute of it). Tommy and I were joined by Arlo, a 2012 Lewis & Clark College grad who is biking to Wyoming to his job as a backpacking guide, so he will join our ragtag group until then. 10 of us bikers camped behind the general store at Powell yesterday, and Missoula is today's destination!
If I manage to bum a laptop, I will post pictures!

Cheers,
Malcolm
